Renovation of old windows
No matter how vivid are the traces of deterioration, the old, wooden windows not only can have a prolonged life but also to look like new.
 
What You Need
Materials: putty, glue, sand paper, oil paint
Steps
1.
Scrubbing - You scrub gently and you remove all the petrified, old putty that turned yellow through the years, without touching the perimetric support of the glasses.
2.
Rubbing - You rub the surfaces free of old paint with an abrasive sponge. You can also use a thin sand paper, wrapped round a wooden block.
3.
Smoothing and painting - When the putty dries completely, you smooth and paint matching the remaining woodwork. During painting, it is advisable to protect the glass with self-adhesive paper tape.
4.
Frames and casings - For the window frames and casings follow the same order of work, always taking care for the correct restoration of the deteriorated spots.
