Laying Tiles Around Obstacles - Over The Water Drain
While tiling our floor, we should pay attention to obstacles on the surface such as water drains. By following the steps below, together we will tile around the water drain.

What You Need?
Materials: mortar, a tile Tools: tape measure, tile cutter, pincers, pencil, rubber mallet
Steps
1.
Measuring the water drain: Let’s begin by measuring the length and width of our water drain.
2.
Marking the measurements: We now mark the taken measurements by adding 1 cm. extra for it will be filled with grout later on.
3.
Cutting the tile: Let’s place the tile face-up in the tile cutter and align the traced cutting line with the guide on the cutter and let’s pull the handle towards ourselves.
4.
Breaking the tile with pincers: Let’s break bits of the tile with pincers until we reach the section that has been traced and cut with the tile cutter.
5.
Setting the tile: Let’s set the tile on where mortar exists. Then, we should settle the tile in its place by pressing down on it and knocking on it with a rubber mallet. A clump sound means that the tile is firmly in place.
